To Africa
Srila Gurudeva's wish
It's official — Srila Govinda Maharaj will send Goswami Maharaj and me
to South Africa to promote his mission in South Africa, and to try to improve
cooperation amongst his disciples.
We will leave for Johannesburg in the first week of June (just before my
Indian visa expires). Goswami Maharaj will stay for at least three weeks; I
will stay for six. Sripad Bhakti Amal Paramahamsa Maharaj will also be sent
to join us a few weeks later.
I really did not think that I would be sent on this mission to South Africa,
because I am a new sannyasi with no qualification other than being
born there. If anything, I thought my being born in South Africa was a
disqualification (a prophet is not recognized in his own
country).
I'm so dumb, sometimes! As Srutasrava Prabhu says: "Duh! I could have looked
at your palm three days ago and told you: 'I see a trip to Africa in your
future.'"
