Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.

Pietermaritzburg Temple

Bhuvan Pavan Prabhu's legacy

After breakfast, Nimai Ananda Prabhu and Sanjay Prabhu take Goswami Maharaj and me to the temple construction site on the hill above the suburb of Northdale. Sanjay Prabhu is now the architectural adviser for the temple.

Bhuvan Pavan Prabhu started building this temple for Srila Gurudeva almost twenty years ago. The work is about half finished, and now it is up to his eldest son, Nimai Ananda Prabhu, to see that the construction of the temple and hall is completed in a timely manner.

Pietermaritzburg is quite a few degrees colder than Durban, so late in the afternoon a crackling wood fire is made in the fireplace and the living is soon cozy and warm. We sit around the fireside with Bhuvan Pavan Prabhu's family and friends, discussing the schedule for the completion of the temple and the future installation of the deities.
