Johannesburg, South Africa

Splitting Up

Early departure for Johannesburg

I got an email from Srila Gurudeva's assistant, Jamuna Priya Devi Dasi yesterday, saying that I do need a visa for Turkey. (When I applied for one in Delhi, India, last month, I was told that South African citizens did not need a visa for Turkey.)

I will have to forgo the Pietermaritzburg portion of our South African tour in order to take care of this visa, because there are no Turkish embassies in Durban or Pietermaritzburg, only in Pretoria. Paramahamsa Maharaj, who will now go to Pietermaritzburg alone, is picked up by Nimai Ananda Prabhu and driven to the capital.

Shyamali Devi Dasi, her brother, Ramanath Prabhu, and his wife, Indumukhi Devi Dasi drive me to the Louis Botha airport from their home in Phoenix, and I get on a Nationwide Airlines flight to Johannesburg.

Premasindhu Prabhu and his son Yogendra Prabhu meet me at Jan Smuts airport in Johannesburg and drive me to the Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Ashram in Lenasia.
