Guru Bhakti
All we ever need
Today I heard a definition of a Vaishnava that I have never heard before: "A
Vaishnava is somebody that Krishna likes."
This got me thinking: who does Krishna like? Who do all the pure saints
(kintu prabhor) agree is most dear to Krishna (priya eva
tasya)? Gurudeva.
We can achieve everything if we just try to please our Gurudeva. Our primary
consideration should be: "How can I please my Guru Maharaj?" If we can gain
the favor of Guru and Vaishnava, we can make rapid advancement in Krishna
consciousness: chadiya vaisnava-seva nistara payeche keba. Without
serving a pure devotee, we cannot advance in spiritual life.
I also heard from Goswami Maharaj today about the glories of Sripad Bhakti
Premik Siddhanti Maharaj. "He has what we want: guru bhakti." He
quoted Srila Gurudeva, who has said of Siddhanti Maharaj: "If my disciples
will take his feet dust on their heads, they will make rapid
advancement."
