It's not what you know...

Srila Gurudeva received a call from South Africa this morning. Hearing only one side of the conversation, it seemed to me that Srila Gurudeva had some trouble understanding who was calling, and what that person wanted to say, because he interspersed his conversation with phrases like, "Who?" and, "I do not follow..."

Finally, the caller said something and Srila Gurudeva said, "Ah, you are working with Shyamali. Now I can understand."

Shyamali Devi Dasi and Rishabhdev Prabhu are two dedicated disciples of Srila Gurudeva who live in Durban, South Africa. Srila Gurudeva is very pleased with their service, and with the service of Premasindhu Prabhu in Johannesburg.

Both Shyamali Devi Dasi and Premasindhu Prabhu were here in India recently, to get Srila Gurudeva's darshan. I have heard about their dedicated service attitude from his own mouth.

It's interesting, I thought. Simply by invoking the name of a sincere servitor of Srila Gurudeva, the caller was immediately understood: the caller's position was only recognized in relation to the servitor's service...
