Stuffed in Kolkata, India.

Many Mangos...

Make monks merry!

With the arrival of summer comes — mango season! Mahaprabhu's favorite fruit, they are offered and served almost every day now for prasadam.

Here, the mangoes come in all shapes, colors, and sizes. And they are not like the small, cardboard-tasting variety imported by the supermarkets in California, but the big, sun-ripened-on-the-tree variety exclusive to India. Delicious!

And inexpensive too: Prema Narayan Prabhu purchased five kilograms for one hundred rupees the other day — that's just 17¢ per lb! I remember paying up to $2 each in California...

The house next door has a few large mango trees that overhang the Math wall, and every now and then the trees drop their fruit on this side of the fence for the pleasure of the Vaishnavas. We had a windfall during the recent storms!
