Sripad Avadhut Maharaj, the dynamic leader of the Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math's mission in Russia, who has spent the last few weeks with Srila Gurudeva in India, returns to Moscow at midday today. Sundar Ananda Prabhu picks him up at the Sheremetyevo International Airport, and brings him to the new Moscow temple.
Poor Avadhut Maharaj! He barely has time for lunch at the temple. The phone rings off the hook. Everybody wants to see him, to get advice and direction on all the different devotional projects here in Moscow.
You would think that Avadhut Maharaj would take a little rest after traveling for the last twenty-four hours... but no! Go, go, go! Always busy, always engaged in spreading the mission, there will be no rest tonight either. Avadhut Maharaj will travel by train to Saint Petersburg after midnight tonight, to work with the devotees there on the next issue of the Sadhu Sangha magazine.
Avadhut Maharaj purchased a number of compact disks with Indian clipart — pictures of Krishna, Vishnu, Shiva, om signs, ghee-lamps, etc. — that will be very helpful for the devotional publishing efforts of the Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math here in Russia.
I will accompany Avadhut Maharaj to Saint Petersburg to help with the layout of the magazine, which will be dedicated to Srila Govinda Maharaj's Vyasa Puja in December.
