Kolkata Book Fair

The largest in Asia

It is that time of the year again: the annual Kolkata Book Fair. This is the 29th anniversary of the book fair, and the Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math will again be represented at the fair from January 29th–February 8th.

The colorful facade of our stall is hand painted every year, and the name of the Math is prominently displayed both in English and Bengali. This year the top of the facade has three domes and three flags flying above.

The preaching booth is very thoughtfully laid out. The main counter facing the entrance is in front of a beautifully painted backdrop of Nabadwip Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math and the curtain in front of the concave counter is inscribed with the message: "Awake! Arise! Search for Sri Krishna—Reality the Beautiful."

The walls are lined with bookshelves displaying hundreds of books and magazines by our gurudevas in English, Bengali, and many other languages; at the entrance of the booth is a large laminated board with dozens of photographs from around the world, depicting "Our Mission in Pictures."

To easiest way to get to the book fair is to take the Kolkata Metro to the Maidan station, then walk up Chowringhee Road towards the Banbithi pond. You really cannot miss it: it is, after all, the largest book fair in Asia.

So if you are in Kolkata, be sure to visit our book stall (#251) and take a look at some of our many books: Search for Sri Krishna—Reality the Beautiful, Sri Guru and His Grace, The Subjective Evolution of Consciousness, Divine Guidance — and many, many more.
