Mahayogi Maharaj's invitation

Yudhamanyu Prabhu returned to South Africa with not one, but two invitations to go to San Jose to help with the soon-to-be-acquired Guardian of Devotion Press. This invitation is from Sripad Bhakti Vidhan Mahayogi Maharaj, who, as Mukunda-mala-vilas Prabhu, befriended me during the early days at the temple in South Africa (1981–82).

"No dearth of service"

Dear Lalita Charan Prabhu,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Sri Guru and Gauranga.

Bhakti Sudhir Goswami Maharaj read me the wonderful letter you wrote him a few weeks ago. Since I last saw you in South Africa, I have heard much about your preaching activities there.

I am very happy to learn how you are maintaining your Krishna consciousness with such great determination, carrying Srila Sridhar Maharaj's conception to the spiritually impoverished people of South Africa practically single-handedly, despite so many setbacks.

We are all proud to hear how you are inspiring others to follow in the line of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. I should have written to you more often. There is no excuse for my neglecting such an important member of our mission as your good self, other than that I am lazy and inconsiderate. Please forgive my offenses.

I understand from Yudhamanyu Prabhu that you have some plan to visit us here in San Jose. We welcome the association of a stalwart like yourself, who has undergone so much difficulty to pursue the path of perfection in Krishna consciousness.

We are hard at work refurbishing the temple and making it fit to house the new printing equipment that we are in the process of acquiring. Your skills are in great demand here, so if you are thinking of staying for some time, you can understand that there would be no dearth of service for you.

We are sending you some nectar [the Maha Mandal Newsletter] with Yudhamanyu Prabhu to tide you over until your visit. The Golden Volcano will be printed on our new machines, so it will be a while before we see the finished product, but you will certainly be one of the first to have a copy.

Please convey my regards to the devotees who are there working with you, as well as your charming little daughter, Lucille. I hope you are in the best of health, and look forward to seeing you soon.

Affectionately,

Bhakti Vidhan Mahayogi Swami.
