First Chinese disciples

Yudhamanyu Prabhu returned to China last Tuesday; it's hard to believe that he was here visiting with Srila Gurudeva for six weeks; time flies.

Before Yudhamanyu Prabhu left, Srila Gurudeva empowered him to give harinama ritvik initiation (initiation by proxy) to four of his English students at the prestigious university where he teaches.

This is an unprecedented event: Srila Gurudeva's first Chinese disciples. In a short ceremony the day before Yudhamanyu Prabhu left, Srila Gurudeva meditated on what spiritual names to give the students, wrote their names on a sheet of paper, and chanted on the japa mala (beads) that Yudhamanyu Prabhu will carry to China.

Felix received the name Purnachandra Das, Daisy received the name Devirani Devi Dasi, Wei-Wei received the name Urmila Devi Dasi, and Sudevi's name became Sudevi Devi Dasi.

It is just incredible how, single-handedly, Yudhamanyu Prabhu Seva Vikram is pleasing Srila Gurudeva, spreading the glories of the Holy Name in Red China. Yes, we know that Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu said:

prthivite ache yada nagaradi-grama
sarvatra pracara haibe mora nama

"My Holy Name will be chanted in every town and village of the world," but it is nevertheless still pretty amazing to witness His prophecy fulfilled to this extent.
