Letter from China

Shortly after I left India and returned to the United States earlier this month, I received an email from China. The email — from Daisy Du, one of Yudhamanyu Prabhu's English students in Chengdu — is a response to some of my recent blogs.

Although Daisy wrote to introduce herself to me, her fame precedes her: Daisy is the celebrated author of the Krishna conscious essay, "Serving Beauty," originally published in April in the English/Chinese newspaper, the Chengdu Weekly, and reproduced on the Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math website.

Anybody with even the most rudimentary acquaintance with our philosophy can immediately recognize that the author of "Serving Beauty" has some connection with our grand teacher and master, Srila Sridhar Maharaj, either through his book, "Search For Sri Krishna — Reality The Beautiful," or through the association of one of his disciples.

When Yudhamanyu Prabhu showed the newspaper article to Srila Govinda Maharaj while we were in India, Srila Gurudeva was so happy and excited to see that at least one of Yudhamanyu Prabhu's students in China had so thoroughly grasped and understood our philosophy, and was able to represent it in such an intelligent and well-thought article.

Daisy is a testament to the effectiveness of Yudhamanyu Prabhu's preaching and the success of Srila Gurudeva's mission in China.

Dear Akinchan Maharaj:

Firstly, let me introduce myself to you. I am a student from a university in China. In recent days, I read many articles of yours on the Internet. I copied Unprecedented service, Forgotten promises, Amazing grace, Once in a blue moon, and so on from the Internet, and then I studied the articles carefully. To tell the truth, I like all of your articles very much!

Secondly, I'd like to say something about one of your beautiful articles, Unprecedented service. After I enjoyed reading it, I was touched by the sentences in the article. It's really a beautiful article I read in my life, and I love it very much. What composed this article? I think the answer is: not only the words, sentences, but also the feeling and the emotion, but the most important thing is the serving attitude, the serving mood!

Thirdly, Yudhamanyu Prabhu Seva Vikram is a knowledgeable and courageous person, and so are you. You knew so many things about Chinese history, you wrote Yudhamanyu Prabhu Vikram so beautiful in the right way and you devoted all your heart for Krishna! I pay my obeisance to you, to Yudhamanyu Prabhu Seva Vikram, and to Srila Gurudeva!

Finally, thank you for all your articles, sincerely! And best wishes to all of the devotees, from the bottom of my heart!
