New look
No, you haven't arrived at the wrong page by mistake :) This is still the same old iMonk blog — I'm just experimenting with a new page layout. After using the old layout for almost seven and a half years, I feel it's time for a change...
When I started this blog on the day that I left for India, in March 2003 (five days before becoming a monk), I determined to blog every day for at least one year to prove to myself that I had the discipline to maintain a blog (I only missed three days that first year :)
A year later, when I started blogging a few times a week instead of every day, I changed the format of the page to the one that I was using up until now. Now that I regularly blog only about once a week, I feel the need to switch to a new, more flexible format...
Some of the changes, going forward:
· The font size is two points bigger, and a little more readable (IMHO).
· All the major links are in the sidebar on the right for easier navigation (less click-throughs).
· There will no longer be a monthly archive page. Instead, the new yearly archive page will now include a brief description of each blog (like the old monthly archive page did). This should make it easier to find a specific blog that you are looking for.
This is still a work in progress. Most of the old blog pages will stay the same; a few (like the Archive and Tag pages) will be converted to the new format over the next few weeks (or when they are updated).
